Booti-Q was created in St. Louis, Missouri in 2024, by four co-workers from the sex-positive coffee shop Shameless Grounds.

For several years, the coffee shop has had a small merchandise display with things like stickers, mugs, t-shirts, as well as a few BDSM toys and tools.

Late in 2023 we realized that folks often came in specifically looking for our fun and irreverent items, and an idea began to form. We realized that many places where creators are able to sell their own creations don’t allow items of a sexual nature. Yet, many people enjoy finding and purchasing such things. And that’s when it hit us…we needed to create a platform just for Creators and Makers of, well, naughty and irreverent stuff. A place where they could sell their goods without fear of being refused a seller’s platform based on the nature of their wares. Further, a place where they didn’t have to compete against mass-manufactured imported goods from areas with questionable human rights and labor practices.

So, why the name “Booti-Q”?

It’s simply a fun and silly take on the word boutique.

Boutique.

Bouti-que.

Booti-Q.
